Panama Pensionado With Dependents: Additional Income and Family Documents

Panama Immigration lists additional solvency per dependent and requires the family relationship to be properly documented.

Retired couple discussing family documents with an adviser

A Pensionado application may include dependents, but the family file should be prepared as one coordinated application. Meeting the principal pension amount is not the only issue: additional solvency and proof of the family relationship must also be reviewed.

Additional income per dependent

Panama Immigration’s published information lists an additional B/.250 per month for each dependent. The way it is documented should be reviewed together with the principal pension evidence.

Proving the family relationship

Marriage or birth certificates, as applicable, should correctly identify the people included and comply with the required formalities.

Authentication and translation

Foreign family documents may require apostille or legalization, and documents not in Spanish may require an authorized translation.

Review the family file together

Checking all family documents at the same time helps identify name, date or civil-status discrepancies before filing.

Official sources

This legal update is based on information published by Panamanian government institutions. Requirements, forms, amounts and channels may change, so the current official version should be checked again before filing.
